Ordering
Time does not permit us to upload all the pictures on display to our on-line shop. If you wish to purchase a particular picture, please let us know which ones and the sizes on the e-mail link above and we will place it on a special section of the on-line shop and inform you of the link to it so that you can complete the purchase.
Picture Quality
In most cases the pictures on display will print up to the largest size. In a few cases, the quality of the original negative does not permit this and we would inform you of the maximum size that would be advisable. The pictures are printed using archival quality paper and inks with a fade resistant life in the order of 100 years.
As the pictures are printed to order we are able to tailor each one to your personal requirements. Please inform us if you wish the picture to be cropped in a particular manner and if you would like the contrasts set at other than those suitable for display. (darker darks and lighter lights) For seeing technical detail we set the contrast to be a more even grey colour but this makes a less attractive display piece. If we do not receive special instructions, we will use our discretion to crop the picture and set the contrasts on the assumption that it is for display.
Print Sizes
The print sizes above are approximate. For example, the dimensions of an A4 sheet are rectangular but a 120 format negative is square. Cropping the picture can produce a rectangular image in many cases but it may not fill completely both the length and the width of an A4 sheet. We will though, alway do our best to produce the largest picture available on the selected paper size.
We can print at even larger sizes or intermediate sizes such as A3 subject to the quality of the original negative. Please enquire for details and prices.
Your help will be appreciated. Although our web site author knows a reasonable amount about old commercials, he's certainly no expert, so descriptions are often vague-or downright wrong! To add to the problem, the original descriptions on the pictures often have the make of vehicle only, and sometimes not even that.
